In connection with the visit of the Hon. Jas. Carroll to the district there was, in consequence of the short notice of the Minister's intended visit some doubt as to whether Mr Jennings M.P. for the district,would be present. The doubts have now been set at rest as a telegram was received on Friday from Mr Jennings intimating that he. would arrive at Te Kuiti by the same train as the Minister. In connection with the local option system as applied to licensing matters it is stated the N.Z. Alliance intend having a Bill drafted and presented to Parliament next session, providing for both Dominion and local option by a bare majority.
