TE KUITI SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

♦ A meeting of the above committee was held in the "Chronicle" office on Monday evening last. Present: Messrs Sims, Chilcott, Nicholson, Dillicar and Matthew. The minutes of previous meeting were read and confirmed. Mr Sims moved the following resolution :—That this meeting place on record its appreciation of the efforts of the late Mr Jer.Ormsby in the cause of education in this district, and deeply deplores his untimely death. The committee also extends to Mrs Ormsby and family their sincere sympathy in her sad bereavement. Seconded by Mr Nicholson and carried. A letter was received from the Secretary to the Education Board stating that the committee's request, to have a coal shed erected at the school could not be granted.—lt was resolved that as the coal is at the present time stored in the shelter shed, which is found to be inconvenient, Mr Sims be authorised to obtain estimates for shed,with power to have same erected. Resolved that Mr C. A. Sellars reelected a member of the Committee in the place of the late Mr Jer. Ormsby. It was resolved that a visiting committee be appointed to visit the school monthly. Accounts amounting to £l2 6s feci were passed for payment. The next meeting of the committee will be held in the "Chronicle" office at 7.30 p.m. on the 30th August.
