——♦ - The New Zealand Loan and Mercan tile Agency Company, Limited, report as follows :- We held a sale of dairy cows and heifers in the Hamilton yards on Wed nesday, 21st inst.. when 330 head came forward. Young cows and well grown heifers maintained late values; but aged cows and undersized heifers could only be quitted at low figures. Dairy cows carrying second to fourth calf made £8 2s 6d to £8 ss; Jersey cow £l2; other cows more aged £4 12s 6d to £5 10s; cull cows £3 5s to £4 2s 6d; well grown three year heifers to calve early Jerseys and Holsteins £7 7s 6d to £8; Shorthorn £5 17s 6d to £7; others to calve later £4 15s to £5 7s 6d; small do., £3 15s to £4 10s,
At our stock sale at Hamilton on the \ 22nd inst., we had a fair entry of fat i and store cattle, but sheep were in J short supply. There was a good de- j mand for all clashes and excellent > prices ruled throughout. Small fat, steers made £6 7s 6d to £7 ss; fat cows £5 2s 6d to £6; heifers £5 ss; ] empty cows in forward condition £3 6s , to £4; 20 month to 2 year steers £3 3s J to £3 ss; 18 month steers £2 12s; steer calves 38s to 425; heifor calves 345; fat wethers 16s to 17s; ewes in lamb 16s 9d; weaner pigs lis 6d. At Te Awamutu on Saturday we submitted 170 dairy cows and heifers also store cattle. There was a large attendance of settlers from all the surrounding districts and a keen demand existed for genuine cows and good heifers; also for young cattle. The whole dairy advertised on account of Mr F. Bowden made from £6 15s to £9 2s 6d; heifers £5 15s to £6 12s 6d; a line of choice heifers from Mr F. j McGovem averaged £7 12s 6d; cows from Mr W. G. Kay £6 15s to £8 7s 6d; cows from various clients £4 to £4 15s: store cows £2 12s to £3 2s 6d; empty 2 year heifers £8; calves mixed sexes 28s to 37a; hoggets 10s 6d; pigs—slips 14s to £1; weaners 9s to Is; breeding sow £4 15s; boar £2 2s. The Farmers' Cc-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, reports as lows:--At Matamata on July 21st we had a good yarding of stock and a long list of sundries. 800 hoggets were required those in wool bringing lls Id to 12s 6d; shorn 12s; other sheep, mixed 10s to 15s; 435 store cattle and 104 dairy cows and heifers sold reallv well: Fat and forward cows £4 10s to £5; store to fresh cows £2 10s to £3 10s; ! two and a half year steers £4 10s to £4 j 15<; two year steers £3 17s 6d; 18 to ; 20 month steers £2 175,6 d to £8 la; 15 j month steers £2 12s; two to two and ■ a bialf year empty heifers £8 to £3 j 7s; good calves 35s to 38s; others 20s ; to 265; forward springing heifers in \ good condition £6 to £7 15s; those not quite to forward £5 to £5 15s; j backward heifers £4 to £4 10s; dairy j cows £4 to £6 ss; 7 sows £4 each; j boar 2j guineas; weaner pigs 6s 6d ; • slips 17s; d.f. ploughs £l4 15s to £ls j 15s; fruit and ornamental trees and j furniture and sundries sold readily and well. At Cambidge on Friday, July 23rd, we yarded 50 bead of beef, 300 store cattle, 150 springers and 240 sheep. There was a large attendance and good competition for stores and springers close to profit. Fat steers £7 12s 6d •to £7 19s; fat heifers and cows £4 12» 6d to £5 2s 6d; forward conditioned bullocks £5 7s 6d to £6 Is; 18 month steers £2 15s to £3; fresh conditioned empty cows £3 2s to £4 2s 6d; store cows £2 2s to £2 12s; 18 month to 2 year empty heifers £2 14s to £3; calves 23s to 255; yearlings 395; choice cows close to profit ,€6 lOa to £8 10s; backward cows £3 2s 6d to £5; choice heifers £6 to £7 7s M; others not so forward £4 15s to £5 ss; backward sorts £3 15s to £4; fat sheep 15s 3d; 2 tooth ewes in lamb 19s 6d; aged ewes in lamb 11a Od; forward empty ewes 12a 6d.
