OUR HAMILTON LETTER.

On Wednesday last, the. annual meeting of the Waikato Hospital Board was held at the Board's- office, Hamilton when ]\!lr Bond was unanimously elected Chairman for the ensuing twelve months. A good deal of discussion took place in connection with the proposed loan of £7OOO to complete the building of the new hospital. It was finally resolved that a committee be set up, to make more satisfactory arrangments with the bank. Three tenders only were received for the new buildings, and on the motion of Mr Bankart it was resolved: — " That as tenders had not been sufficiently advertised, fresh tenders be called in each of the principal towns in New Zealand, returnable on Jaunary 24th ". The result of the poll for the Manukau seat was received in Hamilton with great rejoicing, and on all hands one hears expressions ot pleasure at Mr Lang's successful candidature. Last month rain fell, in Hamilton twelve days, the total rainfall for' the month being 4.40 inches.
