AUSTRALIA WINS FIRST TEST. By an innings and 332 runs, Australia defeated the M.C.C. team in the first Test played at Brisbane. Enp iand made 141 runs in the first innings and 172 in the second. Australia scored 645. KAIKOURA LOSES MATCH BY TWO BUNS. A match was played at Halswell during the week-end between a team from the Kaikoura Club and one representing the Southern Cross.
