DANCES.
There was a good attendance at the dance held in the P.W.D. Social Hall on Thursday night. Music was supplied by Mr W. Thomas (piano), and Mr A. Denia (accordeon), with extras by Miss P. Kennedy and Mr D. Mason. Mr T. K. Robertson was M.C. A lucky spot was won by Mr and Mrs D. Hinds, and a Monte Carlo by Mrs W. Millar and Mr G. Wells. Mr L. Bray, on behalf of the public works men, extended a welsome to Pte. Noel Foulkes and Pte W. Adair, the soldiers replying in brief terms. The ladies provided an excellent snipper, and dancing continued till a late hour.
Despite the inclement weather, there was a good attendance at the dance held in the Drill Hall on Saturday, under the supervision of the Soldiers’ Entertainment Committee, and a most enjoyable time was spent to nyusic supplied by the Kaikoura Dance Band, with extras by Misses A. Harnett and P. Kennedy and Mr D. Mason. Mr J. W. Borland was M.C. A Monte Carlo was won by Miss A. McLeod and Pte. N. Foulkes, and a lucky spot by Mr and Mrs J. Ford. Supper was served and dancing continued until midnight.
