A very pleasant and enthusiastic time was spent at the residence of Mr and Mrs Alex Boyd, Schoolhouse Road, Kaikoura, on Monday, on the occasion of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of their married life. In the afternoon Air Jamjps Boyd, on behalf of those present, congratulated Air and Airs “Sandy” Boyd on their diamond wedding, and referred to the happy relations which had existed during their long period of married life. He wished them many more years of such happiness. During the evening members of the Alasonic fraternity visited the home of Mr and Mrs Boyd, Mr R. S. Williams (Master) presenting the happy pair with an address from the brethren, and wishing then} many more years of happiness. A toast was then honoured, and those present joined in singing “For They Are Jolly Good Fellows.” Air Boyd, in responding, said he and his wife greatly appreciated the kindness of those who had attended that day to assist in making the celebration such an enthusiastic one. They also appreciated very much the kind thoughts expressed., and were exceedingly pleased with the gesture of members of the Lodge and the people for the kindness shown them, and wished all a bright future.
