THEN AND NOW.
NATIONALISTS CHANGE THEIR VIEWS. In the last session of tne House of Representatives prior to the General Election Nationalists were criticising the Government because-were were selling exports at 1939 prices and purchasing imports at 1943 prices. These very same men are now, with crocodile tears pouring down their cheeks, howling at the Government because the Prime Minister and the Minister of Finance raised the question of equalising the position, and removing the disparity which existed. It was quite one thing to cajole the poor deluded farmer regardng prices prior to the election, but when the British Government succeeded in adjusting the price position, the Nationalists now cry “Poor Britain, it is not right to ask her to pay more for our primary products.” How much longer will the farmer stand for this humbug from the men who are farming the farmer?
