1944 PATRIOTIC APPEAL.

GIVE QUICKLY AND GENEROUSLY As will be seen by advertisement on page 1, the committee has done all possible to fascilitate the collection of funds for the 1944 Quota of the Patriotic Appeal, by appointing collecting places in the town, and it is hoped that all will avail then>selves of the oppor- 1 tunity of making their donations early, as the Association’s balance closes at the end of September, and at least £550 is required by that time. Those who follow the events of the war will note that the New Zealand troops are fighting valiantly around Florence and elsewhere, and it is our job to do all possible to make their lives as happy as can be under the circumstances. Many of the men will be patients in hospitals, and by contributing to the fund you will hearten the men by the gift of parcels. There are many prisoners of war, too, who appreciate gifts from our people. We on the home front should play our part by responding generously to the appeal now being made. Act quickly and give generously.
