MR WALTER NASH RETURNS.
WELLINGTON, July 26. The Minister of Finance (the Hon. W. Nash) was in his seat when the House of Representatives resumed its Session this afternoon, and he will, pre sent the Budget on Thursday of next week. Mr Nash w r as in Bretton Woods, in the Eastern United States, on Thurs day of last week. He left the Pacific coast later in the week, and landed at Ohakea aerodrome this morning. On his way honye Mr Nash spent a day in Fiji, and put in time working on the Budget. Travelling in an aeroplane placed at his disposal by Admiral King and the United States Army Transport Command, Mr Nash would have been in New Zealand in 33 hours but for stops at Honolulu and Fiji. The aircraft made a record flight of 10£ hours from San Francisco to Honolulu, and, leaving Fiji at 12.20 a.m. to-day', reached Ohakea at 8.30 a.m. He travelled to Wellington by car. Mr Nash was accompanied by Mrs Nash, Lieut.-General E. Puttick, and his aide, Major G. Crossley, and the Secretary of the Treasury (Mr B. C. Ash win).
