FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL
The Kaikoura Football and Basket ball Clubs journeyed to Cheviot on Saturday* to try conclusions with the Cheviot plavers. In the senior football game Kaikoura were defeated by i 1 to 3 points, after a hard-fought game. In the junior game the result was 9 all.
Mr R. Jenkins (Kaikoura) was the referee. In the basketball patches, Kaikoura won by 23 against Cheviot High School 11; Kaikoura 18, v Cheviot 11; Kaikoura 18 v. Cheviot 5. The games were all spectacular and evenly- fought. The Kaikoura visitors were hospitably entertained and a pleasant day’s outing was experienced by* all. The visitors left for home about 5.30.
