A dance is to be held at the Drill Hall on Saturday night at which the visiting footballers will be the guests of the Kaikoura Football Club.

The Town School will re-open on Monday next. Football games, by all schools, will be played on Takahanga Domain on Friday, June 25, in place of basketball.

The annual meeting of the Suburran Hall Society is convened for Thursday next, June 24. The report and balancesheet is to be presented and proposed amendments to the rules submitted.

Composition studs on football boots have been banned by the Now Zealand Rugby Union. In a letter received by the management commiteo of the Canterbury Rugby Union on Tuesday evening it was stated that on more than one occasion such studs had proved dangerous because of the material breaking away and exposing a metal screw.
