PAYMENT OF PENSIONS
INCREASED ALLOWANCES FOR OLD-AGE PENSIONS WELLINGTON, November 17. Arrangements have been made by the Pensions Department for New Zealand pensions and allowances administered, by the department to bo paid a little eai lior than usual during December this y< ar. Pensioners of all classes will be able to receive* pensions as from and including Monday. December 2.1. “I feel the recipients will greatly appreciate the arrangement,” said the Minister for .Pensions, the Hon. W. E. Parry, to-day. “It will enable them to receive their money in ample time to complete their Christmas shopping.** The Minister added that old-age pensioners would receive an additional 2/6 weekly from December 1, and that increase* would be paid out on Decent her 21.
