MAIN TRUNK LINE.

MR HEALY URGES COMPLETION. The completion of the South Island Main Trunk Railway was advocated by Mr E. F. Healy, M.P., in the House of Representatives on Friday, in the course of his speech in the Address-in-Reply debate. Mr Healy said that the completion of the South Island Alain Trunk line was of vital importance to New Zealand, and he suggested that he work should be put in hand as soon as possible. The province of Afarlhorough was one of the richest in New Zealand, but its development was being frvstrated by lack of transport facilities. At the present time there was one man running the Railways Board, and he was preventing the progress of the country. There was no reason in the world why the unemployed should not be placed on this most important national work.
