SUMMER FLOWER SHOW.

AND CHRISTMAS FAIR. The Summer Flower Show and Christmas Fair organised by St. John’s Church Ladies’ Guild, Cheviot, was held in the Public Hall on Saturday, and proved a great success. This year the flower tables were arranged along the centre i of the main hall, and the display was ; ■ y pleasing. There were large entries in the various sections, despite the rc_ rentr very dry weather. The Flowe Show awards were as follow: — Section 1. —Rose bloom, one variety, double: Mrs S. The stalls for the Christmas Fair, in conjunction with the Flower Show, were gaily dccoiated, and did good business with the crowd of people who attended. The Magic Cave, supervised by Airs A. Fuller, Mrs Marshall and Airs Owen, did a great trade with the children. Father Christmas was present, and distributed his gifts with a liberal hand. The Prime Alinister, Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes and Airs Forbes, were present, and patronised the varicus stalls. The [’rime Alinister endeared himself to the hearts of several mi-ill boys at the “Aunt Sally” cocdinut shy. Towards the close of the evening the got*ds unsold were auttioned by Air J. F.
