GOLF.

On Saturday, in beautiful weather, the Kaikoura Golf Club held eclectic matches for women and men. Both matches produced very close results, and in the men’s game four cards of 36 were returned—;a very good score considering the present difficulties of the course. The following were the best cards returned:—Women: Mrs Flower, 45—6—39 net; Mrs Comer, 49—9—40. Men: C. E. Cholmondeley, 41 —5—36; H. Comer, 39 —3—36; S. J. Mogridge, 39 3—3(5: S. R. O’Callaghan, 40—4=—36: R. L. Withers, 41—4—37; E. W. Flower, 42 —4—38; J. Steel, 46 —8 —38; G. C. Wallace, 424 —38; K. Evans, 47 —7 40; P. ’Morris, 50—10—40. The ties will be played off later. As a result of Saturday’s play many scores were entered on the Ringer. Members are urged to fill their ringer up, a« it is a limited time competition. Following is the draw for Saturday next, a Bogey match:—Miss Newman and Mrs Comer, Mrs Flower and Miss Pope, Miss Gooch and Miss Hayward, Miss . Mackie and Miss Flower, Miss McLennan and Mrs Warner, Miss M. Mackie and Miss Prince, Miss Currie and marker; Mogridge and Murray, Jacobs anil Peters, Flower and Watts, Trolove and O’Malley, O’Callaghan and Lovett, Evans and marker, Cholmondeley and Edwards, Harris and Alexander, Comer and Steel, Wallace and Little. Will all members unable to play kindly notify the Secretary by Friday.
