CHEVIOT GOLF CLUB.
The official opening of the Cheviot Golf Club’s season took place on Saturday, in beautiful weather. There was a very large attendance of players and their friends, including a number of new players. The President (Mr B. G. Westen ra) extended a welcome to players and visitors, and declared the season open. A mixed foursome for trophies donated by the President was won by Mrs P. Childs and Mr B. G. Westenra, the runners-up being Dr. M. E. Irwin and Mr A. C. Hyde. An approach and pt ting competition was won by Miss M. McDonald and Mr F. D. Childs.
