FOOTBALL.
The first of the Sub-union games will be played on the Show Grounds, Cheviot, on Saturday, when Kaikoura will visit the district, and it is expected that two very interesting games will be witnessed. The junior game will start at 1.30 p.m. sharp, and players must be in readiness by that time. The following will represent Cheviot juniors:—Upston, Webster, Crosson, Culhane, S. Denton, McDonald, J. Harrison, Stevenson, Hughes, Crampton, G. Crosson, Kay, Tweedie, Jack Upritchard, A. Barnes. Emergencies: Craighead, Howard, V. Barnes, C. Morrison. The senior team will be selected from Kelly, Upritchard (2), Sloss, Meikle (2), Smart, Clarke, E. Harrison. Kerr, Henshaw, Hendren, C. Barnes, C. Denton, A. Barnes, Flaherty. A dance will be held in the evening.
