The annual meeting of shareholders of the Hapuku Co-operative Dairy Company was held at Hapuku Hall on Wednesday afternoon, September 9, when there was a fair attendance. In the absence of Mr G. K. (Chairman of Directors), Air G. Caton was voted to the chair. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Milk suppliers had been paid £3904 3/8, and of the balance. £553 15/1, it was proposed to pay a dividend of d per cent. £lOO 17/3, a cash bonus of Ad £133 9/, allot shares to the value of £244 on the basis of butterfat supplied, and carry forward £75. i The quantity of cheese manufactured was 72 tons ,as compared with 81 i last year; the average rest for the year was 3.93; it took 10.1 libs of milk to make a pound of cheese; 11b of butterfat made 2.511 b of cheese; the quantity of milk supplied was 1,027,8G71b5, and the quantity of butterfat supplied G4,053.201b5. Messrs I*. J. Boyd ami J. Caton were elected to the two vacancies on the directorate, Air 11. Chisnall having withdrawn from the contest on account of inability to give the attention which, the position warranted. A motion was carried that a letter be sent to Mr Chisnall, conveying the appreciation of the company for his long services as a director of the company. Mr A. L. (Hay was re-elected auditor. Mr J. S. Hunt, representing Messrs Wright, Stephenson ami C 0.,, was in attendance, and addressed the meeting. He was thanked for his attendance, and advised that he would be comunicated with later as to the selling or consigning of the company’s output. A meeting of the directors was .held immediately after the annual meeting, and Mr G. K. Parsons was re-elected Chairman of Directors. It was decided that the directors’ meetings be held on the second Thursday in the month. ' The directors then visited ihe-fart ory to inspect the various improvements made in the off season. It is exported that the factory will re-open on Wednesday next.
