MISSING MOTOR LAUNCH.
The Pieton police received word on Monday last that considerable anxiety was being felt regarding the safety of a launch party which left Titirangi on Saturday morning for Okaha. Those on board the launch were Mr and Mrs Wilfred Wells and child, and Mr and Mrs Tetley and child. Advice has since been received that the launch Titirangi was picked up by the steamer Corinna off Stephen’s Island, and the whole party safely landed at Titirangi. Unfortunately, the telephone was working badly, and little of what was said over the instrument was intelligible, but one of the ladies who rang up- the Picton I police stated that‘alll were safe, but that | they had had an awful experience. !
