PERSONAL NOTES

Mr and Mrs G E A Hubbard, who have been on a short visit to Nslsod, returned last evening. Mr Thomas Thompson, mine superintendent of Big Biver mine, returned from Wellington on Saturday evening, and left later for Big River.

The death took nlaee at Hokitika on Saturday evening of one of that district's most respected residents. Mrs Margaret Hatch, in her 90th year. The deceased with her husband, the late Mr George Harwood Hatoh, arrived in the early days of the West Coast, and were among the pioneers in the Ftimq. district. She leaves five sons and four daughters. The death took place at Greymouth on Saturday of Mr Thomas Storie, atjtbe age of 80 years. Tbdeceased, who was manager of the Runaoga Co-operative Stores for 16 years and retired eight years ago was a native of Scotland and cam? to the Dominion 22 years ago. He is survived by three sons and four daughters.
