Reefton Musical and Literary Society
The annual meeting of the Reefton Musical and Literary Society waa held in the Council Chambers last evening, before a very good attendance. Rev, Father Seymour (President) occupied the chair. The President read the notice convening the meeting and explained the purpose of the circular which had been issued. The speaker made reference to the discussion which had taken place at the previous meeting and he trusted that all present would do their utmost to assist the work of the Society. Mr W. B Auld endorsed the remarks of the President. The balance sheet was presented and received, and it was resolved that it be adopted. This balance sheet showed that the Society was in a fairly healthy financial condition. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows :■ — President, Pev. Father Seymour ; Vice President, Mr W. F. Brett Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. B. Auld ; Committee. Mesdames Archer, Sharpe and Mr Don. Mrs Kane was elected conduetress of ' the Glee Circle and Mr R. Don official accompanist. , The Rev. P. Dorrian was elected leader of the Literary section. The weekly meeting night was fixed for Monday night with the next monthly meeting on December 10th,
