FAST TIMES. 1 BY NOEL CRUMP. (United Pres* Am.) AUCKLAND, Last Night. In a special attempt on bis own New Zealand record for a hundred metres in the tepid baths tonight. Noel Crump, the Dominion champion, covered the distance in 60 4-ssecs, breaking the record he established last week by two-fifths of a second. In the course of the same swim. Crump did the hundred yards in 64 4-stfec, this also being two-fifths faster than his own New Zealand record. Crump’s hundred metres time was better than the best by an Australian, Ryan, by three-fifths of a second. Marjorie Black, aged 12 years, swam fifty yards in 29 4-5 secs, lowering the New Zealand junior girls’ record held by D. Syme, of Invercargill. by two-fifths of a second.
