The Mataki Gold Dredging Limited official return for the week ending 24th inst. is 30oz for 124 hours work.
Gillespie’s Beacb Dredging Company for the week ending March 24 obtained 40oz 9dwt of gold for 96 hours’ work.
Tbe Okarito dredge's return for last week was 330 z 18dwt for 119£ hours dredging.
The Lawson Flat report states that owing to the exceptionally dry Reason, a shortage of water occurred during the two weeks prior to March 7. and only 131 hours' sluicing took place during that period. The result of the wash-up on March 7 was 230* 2dwt. Since then, 237 hours’ sluicing have taken place, and at the wash-up last week-end, 51oz 13dwt of retorted go’d were obtained, making a total of 740 z 15dwt for the period. The wash-up for Deep Lead for the | period ended on Saturday was 530 z 14dwta 12gra for 11 shifts. manager reports the claim is now completely opened up and good gold ra showing in the face.
