SEPTEMBER FIGURES I A REMARKABLE INCREASE (1 i*r United Press Assn.) WELLINGTON. Last Night. More gold was exported from New, Zealand during September than during any single month for many years, ac-j cording to a statement by Mr A. H. * KimbeJl, Under Secretary of Mines. | The export for the month was 20,3471
ounces, valued at £113,275, rather less than a sixth of the total gold export for last year. Mr Kimbell said, from January Ist last, to September 30th, prospectors alone had sold 12,620 oimces of gold valued at £55,674. This amount was much higher than for the corresponding figure for 1933. It was considered that the number ol prospectors had increased from 400 to 500 per cent during the first nine months of the present year. ] The average monthly revenues for gold actually sold of individual prospectors ranged from £8 18s 6d to £l3 * 8s Od.
