FISHING LAUNCHES
I OPEN COCKPITS A GRAVE DANGER NEW PLYMOUTH, Last NiNght. That the attention of the Marine Department he called to the fact that fishing launches, with open cockpits are a great danger to those in charge of them and that legislation he made to prevent such fishing boats from cross-j ing hars of all rivers in New Zea- j land. This was a rider added hy the jury to a verdict of accidental drowning, returned at the inquest into the deaths of Robert S. Halcrow (master of the | vessel Kapuni) and Alfred Allen, fisherman, who were drowned when the 1 launch capsized on Waitara bar on Wednesday.
