The ten-mile bicycle road race, from Reefton to Brazil’s and return took place last evening, and waa won bv P. J. McMahon (70 sec.) from G Lockington (25 see ), with Lewis (scr) third. The leaders McMahon and Lockington came into the straight run home together, but McMahon sprinted beat, beating Lockington by several lengths. The winner's time waa 29.34, Lockington's time 28.50 was the fastest.

A letter from a debtor in reapones to a demand for payment of money, read by a solicitor acting for a creditor in the Magistrate’s Court at Wellington this week, caused some amusement, in which the Magistrate (Mr T.
