Mr Sullivan asked in the House to duly Whether there was any truth i»L the rumour that the Railway Board intend, ed to reduce the hours of work of mil way men .and their wages pro mtaand if so, was that not a contradiction of the statement previously made by the Minister, to the effect that the Rail wav Board would have no power to deal with wages. The Prime Minister replied that the Minister of Railways had -referred the
matter to the Railway Board and the Board had replied that it was not eon tom-plating taking any action such at was suggested.
