Rebels and Punjah Troops Clash Reed g 20 a.m. Delhi, June 5 One hundred rebels were killed g and wounded in a fierce encounter 1 with a detachment of Punjab troops] at Bauklaung near Prome, Burma. ] The Punjahis surprised the rebels, who were estimated to number 300, in a jungle fortress, and after a burst of rapid fire, rushed the stockade, when a grim hand to hand fight ensued, after which the insurgents fled in confusion Many were captured, and included are wounded leaders.
The Crown forces suffered no casualties.
