OBITUARY
ANASTACIAKIRWAN,
Quite a gloom was cast over Reef ton, this morning when it became know that Miss Stacia, Kirwan, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs R, Kirwan of Dick Street, hid passed away at the local hospital, after a short ill* ness. Deceased who was only 24 years of age, was very popular i with all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. Mhs Kirwan has ibeen a bright and leading young life in all sport and charitatfffe works, the position of Secretary to the Children of Mary Sodality for a number of years, also Secretary to the St Vincent De Paul Society in whose cause she has been an able wo.'ker. During this terrible epedimic, to which she fell a victim, she has been a voluntary and able nurse, since the first of outbreak, assisting at the local hospitals, and a number of private homes After such noble work it is particularly sad to think such a promising young girl should be called on to make it.h'e supreme sacrifice. We, with the residents of Reefton, extend to her sorrowing parents and family our heartfelt sympathy in their painful bereavement. The funeral took place this afternoon, the Rev Father Eccleton impressively conducting the last sad rites of the Catholic Church, at %e graveside.
