Charge of Desertion Dismissed AUCKLAND, This Day. At the Police Court to day Dr Albert Harding Porter, who was arrested in Wellington, was charged with an attempt to leave New Zealand without making adequate provision for the mains tenance of his wife. Counsel for complainant stated the defendat had made an ex? planation to his wife as to bis circumstances and as to her main* tenance, which she accepted; She did not desire to, proceed with the case, The case was struck out.
