F« Press Association. Trentham, March 4. The meeting opened this mornng under favourable auspices. There are record entries and fine weather. The shooting started at 200 yards. Volunteer match. In the early sta:e a (air number o( all the butts were put up, but the wind, which was then slight, steadily increased and scoring slackened, Thirty threes were numerous, and on the whole the shooting was good. 'I he following made possibles- Burns (Kaiori), Biggins (Timaru), Speck (Stratford). The 600 yards is now propressing. Combined —"t the 600 yards range the shooting, on the whole, considering the character of the wind, was very good. 'I he following secured possibles—Mitchener (Nelson), Edgecombe (Waikato),. Sharland (Nelson), Milsary (Nelson). _ The following secured all butts—Kitchen (Upper Hutt), Munro (Murihuka) The 800 yards range is now being entered upon.
