The Nationalist motion condemning the Government for using the statute of Edward 111 for the conviction of Farrell was defeated by 142 votes to 18. , The Labour members sharply attacked Mr Burn's administration of the Unemployed Act, alleging it was ungenerous. Mr Pickersgill did not think that women workeis of London were fairly dealt with as compared with men. Mr Burns said he was justified in not sanctioning a farm colony for women as it was useless. The transfer of charwomen would cost Lioo a piece to teach them market gardening. The Government made grants and sanctioned loans wherever it was satisfied they were necessary.
