Mr Geo Reid, speaking on defence, ridiculed an Australian Navy, and declared there was no necessity for | compulsory military tiaining. His policy for military training for the next years would be to make the forts, garrisons and officers efficient, and would rather spend LSo,ooo on a military college than spend LBo,ooo on forced services.
