RECORD REIGN DEMONSTRAT TION.
We ars not to be identifisd|with the opinions expressed by correspondents. TO THE EDITOR. Sib, — A good start has been made towards the lecal demonstration in honor of the Record Reiga. The success of the demonstration depends a great deal on the miners obtaining a holiday on the 22nd iaat. If this is conceded they wH be able to take part in the procession during the morning, and, if possible, a monster torchlight parade fchould be arranged with bards, &c, at night, previous to ti;e display of fireworks. One or two other items codd be included. For instance, the school children around Eeefton could march in themorning's procession with flags und banners, so that they should pet the most enjoyment possible. A few flags hoisted through the town wouid help to enliven the day, and the night, if the committee can manage it, a gigantic bonfire, erected on the top of the hill above the reservoir, should terminate the day's rejoicing 3.
