Rec. io 10 a.m. Adelaide, This Day The mystery surrounding the fate of Jofres -and Wells, the two missing members of -the Caivert exploring expedition has at last been cleared up. • A telegram has been received from Margery, the leader of the.reiief expedition, announcing the discovery ot their bodiesBy handcuffing the natives and using strong measures they eventu tually i forced them to lead|the party to the place where the remains were. The two men perished while heading for Joaune springs. The bodies of Jones and Wells were found near a well close to Margery's tradis when out exploring in April: last. .Jones's body. k .was mBs 1 was in a tent. Evidently Jones j - died first, and Wells partially buried i hftii, arid then returned to the tent 10 wait death. The natives had stolen j j»U the- firearms and valuables, but j 6o«Be personal belongings, including] Jones's 'journal were found. ! ' From the" journal it is gathered that owing to want of food and ! "water and the terrible heatj one of the- -.camels died and the others strayed. The. men were too weak: to follow them. The last entry in'the journal is that both are unwell and very weak. Only two quart's of witer are left, and it plaintively adds that they do'not expect to last much linger. - The evidence points to the fact that the men reached the spot where tHey perished early in November. <* The bodies^ arc -beinS forwarded to Adelaide. * .
