She went to the scaffold apparently self-possessed, but when her legs were pinioned she gave way somewhet and swayed backwards and forwards, holding the warder's hand. The drop was seven feet nine inches. Death was instantaneous. To the Rev, Lindsay she said as far as the evidence was concerned the sentenca was justified, but protested innocence as far as intention and forethought was concerned.
