Invercargill, Nov. 11.
A man whose name is believed to be Thomas Reed attempted to board the train from Invercargill to Dunedin at Gore this afternoon when he fell In front of a carriage, the wheels of which ran over and killed him instantly. Dunedin, Nov. 11.
Thomas Burns, an old man, dropped dead in a restaurant last night. He is supposed to have suffered from heart disease.
Wellington, Nov. 11. The company of Wellington and West Coast men which was formed some time ago to work coal measures at Paparoa, in the ranges at the back of Greymouth, have receivtd news by c%ble that Mr McD.ougall, of Wellington, who went home»on their behalf last year, has succeeded in making arrangements with London capitalists to find the £60,000 required for forming a railway to open up the property. In the Appeal Court to-day in the case of Do Hago v. the Public Trustee the appeal from the decision of Judge Richmond, non-suiting the appellant in the action claiming the removal of the Public Trustee from the position of the committee of the estate of Hugh Wright, lunatic, on the grounds of maladministration, defendant's counsel raised the point that the lunatic had not been so found by inquisition, and that the order appointing the Public Trustee was therefore invalid. The Court ultimately dismissed the
appeal on this point, and also held that plaintiff ought not to have proceeded by suit but by petition in lunacy.
