The leader of the Opposition approved of an appeal to the country, which the Premier declared the Government would accept Amongst the Premier's forecast for the session, he announced a bill for the administration of New Gninea, which would be proceeded with as soon as the Government had received an answer from the New South Wales Government as to whether it adhered to its previous form of assent. The despatch it is understood states that the Imperial Conference have approved of the proposal to be considered at Washington, that om» of three powers, Englaud, Germany and America should control native affairs at Samoa and there is strong reason for believing that Germany will be chosen.
