M. writies in the New York Tribune: "I have found that to bathe the chest with cold water evwfy morning and rub vigorously with a coarse towel, and then inflate them several times, has been of great help to ma" S. writea: "The process of 4?*etypirig the lungs is simple enough, but it will require long and persistent effort The lungs must be frequently inflated to their fullest c&pacfty, inhaling and exhaling the air very, slowly. This must be done in pore air daily and more frequently .. after the. lungs and the muscles of the chest have scqtiirat some strength. Great cautlott and particular care must be taken 1 in the commencement of these exercises Or serious results may ensue, especially toone of feeble habit or with weak or congested lungs. After the lungs haveacquired sufficient strength it is best; to expel the air with considerable* force through a very sn.all opening — a quill, for instance — allowing the pressure to come on the walls of the chest. This exercise alone, persisted in, will greatly benefit any one, and go. a great way towards preventing pulmonary disease.!' ..'■■• " •*■
