We received the following telegram from a correspondent at the,- Ahaura, giving the latest particularise the Shaw— Ellis dispute t—AhaurfE^Bfay •10th — Mr Shaw stated distinctly in his 'address at Nelson Creek on Wednesday evening last, that Mr Gordon had told iim that the papers connected with the case of Ellis and party, were in the office of the Nelson Creek water-race, and were open for the inspection of any elector in the district On the j following morning, Mr Law, an elector i of Nelson Creek, went to the office, and j asked to see the papers referred to, j and was told by the Manager, that Mr Shaw, and Mr Morris, had been to the office before the meeting the previous night, and thoroughly searched for the papers, and could not find them ; the Manager further said, tha* the papers were not in the office. Mr Law then telegraphed to Mr Gordon, to ascertain where the papers were to be found, and to which he received the following reply: — "Reefton, May 12th. To Mr J. Law, Ahaura. Never told Mr Shaw that I had a copy of papers, re Ellis' race. Never saw copy of Mr Shaw's evidence, nor is there any papers connected with this ease ia

the office of the Nelaon Creek waterrace. Henry A. Goudon." The following telegram has also been received from Messrs Buller and Gully, Wellington :-'• To W. H. Jones Esq., Ahaura. Me ElH g> Clerk of House can find no record of any evidence having been given on Goldfields Committee by Shaw. Buller and Gully, Wellington."
