MAN TO BE AT COROMANDEL

That the Post and Telegraph Department be asked to decentralise its service so that a seven day repair service could be provided to subscribers’ not adjacent to the main centres was the text of a remit placed before the Northern Thames siub-provincial executive meeting of Federated Farmers held recently >in Thames. Mr S. E. Hall, chairman, informed the meeting that the remit bad been taken up by the Auckland provincial office of Federated Farmers and representations had been made to the department. It had been explained that in isolated districts there were of necessity occasions where delays in repairs could not be avoided. Mr Hall, stated he had been advised that the department had now decided to station an officer of the department at Coromandel so that he would be available to effect repairs to the service.
