• WAITAjKARURU a wins KEREPEHI A DEFEATED Kerepehi Tennis Club’s A team met the Waitakaruam A team at Waitakaruru last week-end under excellent weather conditions and a brisk well fought match resulted in a win for Waitakaruru with 10 games to Kerepehi’s 5. Scores were as follows, with Waitakaruru names placed first:— Ladies’ singles: Mrs Dibble defeated Miss J. Candy, 7—3; Mrs W. Hegh defeated Miss L». Poland, 7—3; Mrs Smith ’defeated Miss E. Patterson, 7—3; Mrs Smythe defeated Mrs Sole, 7—6. Ladies’ doubles: Mrs Dibble and Mrs Hegh defeated Miss J. Candy and Miss L. Poland, 7—6; Mrs Smith and Mrs Smythe defeated Mrs Sole and Miss Patterson, 7—4. Men’s singles: W. Hegh lost to AMcLean, 4—9; K. Paton lost to T. Samuels, 7—9; N. Paton defeated PConnor, 9—4; J. Grant lost to L. €lark, 5—9? P. Harris lost to W. Fowler, 3—9; G. McGaffin defeated R. Lipscombe, 9—5. Men’s double’s: W. Hegh and RPaton lost to A. McLean and T. Samuels, 7—9; N. Paton and P. Harris defeated P. Connor and L. Clark, 9—B; J. Grant and G. McGaffin defeated R. Lipscombe and W. Fowler, 9—l.
