A highway bridge in the State of Maryland was recently dedicated to the memory of Corporal John C. Brown, first U.S. soldier from Maryland to be killed in action in Korea. The photograph shows the unveiling of a plaque at the bridge approach at Rockville, Maryland, on August 26, 1950. Participating are (left to right) a representative of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a U.S. war veterans’ organisation, a brother-in-law and an uncle of the honoured and Dr John M. Chang, the Korean ambassador to the U.S. Dr Chang was principal speaker at the dedication.
