MRS SCOTT V.O. ATTENDS GATHERING AT NETHERTON There was a good attendance of members at the October meeting of the Netherton Women’s Institute, the president, Mrs C. Townshend, presiding and opening the meeting with the ode, prayer and aspirations. Birthday sprays were presented to Mesdames J. Bourne and McLachlan. The usual round of business was dealt with after which members discussed the purchasing of an ambulance for Paeroa and it was the feeling of the meeting that Netherton institute would help.
The president welcomed Mrs Scott and pinned a spray on her. Members enjoyed a Very pleasant afternoon listening to institute procedure and asking questions after which Mirs Scott gave a most interesting demonstration on mhkjng flowers with stranded cotton, members showing great interest. The president thanked Mrs Scott for a very instructive and interesting visit. Mrs Robt. Morrison won the competition. Other competitions resulted:—'Oven cloth, Mrs Ryall, 1; Mrs G. Sarjant, 2; Mrs Skinner, 3. Cream puffs, Mrs Locke, 1; Mrs Skinner, 2; Mrs Geo. Sarjant, 3. Vase of flowers, Mrs C. Townshend, 1; Mrs Locke, 2; Mrs Heslop, 3. Afternoon tea served by the hostesses, Mesdames M. Louch, Roy Morrison and Robt. Morrison brought a pleasant meeting a close.
