MARK STARR Vice Chairman of the U.S. Advisory Commission on Educational Exchange. He is also one of the great teachers of the American Labour movement. He is largely responsible for the adult educational programme of the International Ladies Garment Workers Union (AFL) and is director of the union’s educational programme. He rose from a day labourer in coal mines to become an authority on American labour problems. He is author of many books, pamphlets and magazine articles on labour. His “Labor in America” is frequently used as a textbook.
