MINING LICENSE
BOARD TO OPPOSE HAURAKI CATCHMENT AREA An application for a mining license filed by Messrs Robeits Bros, of Thames, is to be opposed by the Hauraki Catchment Board. At the September meeting of the board, the chairman, Mr H. M. Corbett, stated that it was the board’s policy to oppose such applications where there was any interference with watercourses. He had instructed the secretary to lodge an objection and had made arrangements for Mr D. G. McMillan to appear at the hearing and oppose the application on behalf of the board. Mr McMillan informed the b-.ard members that the hearing had been adjourned. The board approved the chairman’s action and confirmed the appointment of Mr McMillan to appear for the board at the adjourned hearing.
