SHOW OF NO VALUE
(TO THE EDITOR) Sir, I was surprised at Cr. O’Brien’sviews that the Hauraki Agricultural and Pastoral Association’s showserved no good purpose to the people of Paeroa or the town. For his knowledge a show is held so fanners and town folk can exhibit their stock. The Paeroa show is rated as one of the best displays in country towns. Paeroa is fortunate in having fertile land surrounding it and I say definitely that the support the farming district and the town folk have given, in conjuction with our worthy chain of sound mayors and councillors over a lon gperiod of years has made Paeroa the beautiful town it is today. Nearly every bread winner in the town, including Cr O’Brien, depends in some way on the farmers and for him to deny the Hauraki Agricultural and Pastoral Show to be'held in. the domain is absurd. CONFF.TR 0 Paeroa.
