One suggestion, a two-way roadway to Long bay park, bordered by trees, each bearing a soldier’s name, was put before the meeting, but as nio details as to cost were to hand/ nothing definite Could be done. Various other ideas were put forward including a proposal in eonnection*'with the soldiers’ cem- ' etery, that a tar sealed strip be laid down leading to it. After such ideas had been discussed a resolution was carried to the effect ttyat in view of the small 'attendance i and ob vious lack of interest in (proposals for the establishment of a war memorial in Ooromnadel the meeting resolved that no application be made in relation thereto.
