Miss Laura Robinson and Miss Esther Lee have left Whitianga to begin tile special course at the Teachers Training. College, Auckland. Miss Lee has been assisting at Coroglen School. * Miss Robinson has for some years been prominent in youth and Girl Guide work in the Coromandel peninsula. She is district. Guide commission for the peninsula area and Bfown Owl of the Mercury Pack.
. At a pleasant afternoon tea party held at Mirs R. A. Smith’s residence Miss Robinson was' the guest of honour.
Wishing her the best of health and happiness in the. future, on behalf of Tawny Owl and the: Bffownie pack# 'Brownies Sonia Lee and Mjargaret Moss presented Miss Robinson with a bouquet of stock and freezing and a gift of handkerchiefs. On behalf .of the local . Girl Guide Association Mrs A. Chaney presented Miss Robinsbn with a nylon brush- and comb set; ahd “a, posy of violets and daphne. .. She wished Miss Robinson well an& thanked her for her. wonderful work for Brownies ahd Guides. ; In* replying Miss Robinson said that the work had been a joy to her and that .really her mother was 1 the one,
who deserved the thanks, for making it possible tp have the time free to devote to Guides and Brownies. She alflb thanked the committee for its help and co-operation and remarked that wherever she went her heart would be in the Bay. t •Mrs Smith* served a delightful afternoon tea. .
Miss Robinson has- resigned front the position of district commissioner she will remain Brown Owl of the Brownie path. On Saturday before play commenced C. Robinson, inaugurator of the Meircury ®ay Baskjetball was presented with an ecru crocheted tpiift set, ’ and Miss Esther Lee, a foundation (member, wae ' r presented with a beautiful delft flower bowl.
